Hello

Hello my name is Maggie and I am a mom of 2 handsome little men ages 4 & 5. I have had some struggles since having my second child. I got post pardum depression after he was born and sunk pretty low. I was put on meds to help me cope but had to go off of them because my husband and I were trying for a 3rd baby. Once coming off my meds I sunk even deeper, to the point where my husband sat down and cried begging me to go back on my meds. It wasn't fair to him or our beautiful boys so I agreed to give up trying for a 3rd and went back on my meds. The Dr had told me that if I was to have a 3rd baby the chances of my depression getting worse were extremely high and I could not put my children or husband through that. I feel much better now thanks to my meds, lots of exercise and healthy eating habits. The one thing I struggle with the most right now is that I am changed. I am not the same easy going person I was before having kids. I thought things would be different being a mom. Don't get me wrong I love being a mom and I love my boys with all that I am. I just thought I would be better at it. That I wouldn't struggle so much with the simplest of things. I often feel that my kids deserved a better mom. What I am hoping by joining this group is to find that I am not alone that there are others who have or do feel the same way and hopefully find ways to cope with things better or change them. Sorry for the long post.

Hi and welcome to the boards!

It is great you are reaching out and talking to other moms! Feel free to post any time.

I had PPD after my first like you I thought I would be better at it. Remember you are a great mom!

After my first, I had twins and I didn't have PPD after them. My mindset changed, if things didn't get done it wasn't a big deal. If I spent the whole day in pj's then so be it. I focus on taking care of them and did not think what other people thought.

Remember you are not alone and you can chat with us anytime and it doesn't matter how little you think it is. We are here to support each other. And remember you are a great mom!
